I am fighting a cold. So far I am winning but it is a close battle. I feel like any small thing could send me over the edge. Which brings me to an interesting point. Should you do yoga when you are sick? Or almost sick? One of my old Bikram instructors said doing hot yoga will knock the cold out of you. Apparently Sasangasana (Rabbit Pose) is good for relieving cold symptoms. However stressing your body when you are run down is usually not recommended… Yoga can stress your body. My general feeling is that colds should be met with rest and lots of liquids. That is what animals do. They stop. They get quiet and heal themselves. So as much as I can in the next few days I am going to rest. My yoga for the day? Yoga Nidra.
